A New Way To Support Male Fertility

The Reality About Fertility Today…

  • Fertility is Declining Worldwide

Research suggests that at our current rate, up to 50% of couples will need assistive reproductive technology (ART) by 2050.

  • Modern Life is to Blame

Lifestyle factors (nutrition, sleep, exercise) & environmental toxins are believed to be significantly impacting male & female reproductive health.

  • Male Factors are Underrepresented

Male factor infertility is responsible for 30-50% of infertility cases and yet support for men wanting to improve their sperm quality is drastically lacking in the fertility space.

  • Men Have Been Left Out

Fertility has been and continues to be thought of as a women’s issue. This does a disservice to both men and women who desperately want to be parents.

The good news is, there is a lot we can do

Many studies show the power environmental, lifestyle and nutritonal changes have on improving reproductive health.

We’re creating the first ever male fertility enhancing protein shake

Our Ingredients

The Powerhouses

  • A naturally occurring amino acid that can be found in foods such as red meat, poultry, fish, and dairy—L- Carnitine plays a critical role in energy production and is essential for transporting long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria. L-Carnitine has been shown in numerous studies to have positive effects on improving sperm quality, motility, count, and morphology.

  • NAC comes from the amino acid, L-Cysteine, and is necessary to make and replenish glutathione, one of the body's most important antioxidants. 600 mg/day of NAC has been shown in studies to improve all semen parameters.

  • ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) is found in every cell of the human body and is unique in that it is both water and fat soluble, allowing it to work throughout the body. Numerous studies have shown that ALA can improve sperm parameters and reduce sperm DNA damage.

  • Selenium is an essential mineral that helps protect cells from oxidative damage. While only required in small amounts, it's impact on male fertility can't be understated. Several studies have shown significant improvement in motility, morphology, semen volume, total sperm count and concentration, at a dose of 100-200 mcg/day.

  • Zinc is an essential mineral that plays a critical role in the male reproductive system and sperm development. Researchers have found zinc concentrations in seminal plasma to be positively associated with male fertility.

  • Folate (aka Vitamin B9) is crucial in healthy cell formation and is commonly found in dark green leafy vegetables, beans, peas, and nuts.

Commonly used in pregnancy to help prevent birth defects, including neural tube defects such as spina bifida, folate has been positively associated with lower sperm injury higher sperm density, normal sperm morphology, overall higher semen quality and negatively associated with infertility.

The OG Vitamins

  • The human body needs 13 vitamins to function properly. 8 of these 13 are "B Vitamins,” which are essential for various metabolic processes in the body. Vitamin B6 and B12 have been shown in studies to increase sperm count, improve sperm motility and reduce sperm DNA damage.

  • Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant which helps protect cell membranes from reactive oxygen species (ROS). A 2022 meta-analysis of 11 studies showed an improvement in progressive motility, sperm concentration, sperm morphology, and total sperm number with Vitamin E supplementation.

  • While commonly associated with helping the body absorb calcium and promoting bone health, Vitamin D also plays an important role in reproductive health. Studies have shown a significant correlation between Vitamin D levels and sperm parameters, especially improved motility.

  • Vitamin C (aka ascorbic acid) is an essential nutrient that acts as an antioxidant, helping to protect cells from the damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C helps by neutralizing ROS (reactive oxygen species) and protects sperm cells from oxidative damage.

The REAL Food Heroes

  • We are firm believers in the power of REAL food, so we always knew our shake would go well beyond just "supplements". Our organic greens blend is packed with nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that are essential for overall wellbeing.

  • Our plant-based protein blend not only tastes great, but provides a complete protein source that is free of dairy, gluten, soy, and any animal products.

  • Fiber is lacking in most American’s diets these days. Fiber is associated with detoxification and combating stress in the body, both of which indirectly support improved reproductive health (or said another way, when we improve our general health, we improve our fertility health). We’ve included acacia powder in our shake as a simple, efficient way for you to increase your fiber intake.

  • Cacao powder is a potent source of minerals, fiber, and a group of unique antioxidants known as flavonoids. Given their powerful antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, and anti-inflammatory pharmacological effects, flavonoids are widely shown as powerful therapeutic agents in the field of male fertility.

What about CoQ10 and Omega 3’s?

If you’ve done any research on improving fertility, you have likely come across the documented benefits of both CoQ10 (ubiquinol form) and Omega 3 fatty acids. While we are BIG fans of both of these ingredients, and highly recommend that you include these as part of your preconception routine, we’ve intentionally omitted both of these ingredients from our shake. Here’s why:

  • CoQ10 is much less absorbed by the body when ingested in powder form, which is why the highest quality CoQ10 supplements in the market are often in liquid or capsule form. These forms allow fat to be added, drastically increasing absorption.

  • DHA & EPA, the Omega 3 fatty acids, are found in cold water fish and some algae. They are best absorbed by the body when taken in liquid form, with capsules coming in as a second best choice. While there are powder forms of Omega 3 supplements on the market, the additional processing required drastically decreases their nutritional benefits. We can’t in good conscience include these sub-optimal ingredients in our shake.

Getting a therapeutic dose requires intentionality with each and every ingredient. We’re unwilling to cut corners. Our mission is to create a product that truly helps men on their path to parenthood and doesn’t include fluff for marketing purposes.

Stay tuned as we work to create additional CoQ10 and Omega 3 products to augment our fertility optimizing shake!
